World Champion Daniela Ryf conquers Alpe d’Huez and round three of the Spirit Tri Series

July 30

Daniela Ryf, four-time Ironman World Champion, has convincingly won the third race in the Spirit Tri Series, the iconic TIME Alpe d’Huez triathlon.

Expectations were high and Daniela did not fail to impress, creating exciting moments as she passed the leading male athlete, Romaine Guillaume, on the climb at Alpe d’Huez.

Daniela finished the race sixth overall in a time of 6:15:57, nearly 30 mins ahead of second place female Carrie Lester from Australia. Romaine Guillaume placed first in the men’s race with a time of 6:02:52.

The championship quality event attracted more than a thousand competitors ready to take on the famously challenging bike course made up of three mountain passes, including the 21 switching bends of the climb to Alpe d’Huez.
