TLS athletes travelled to Basel for the Aquathlon (Swim/Run). Lars Schnieder, Lukas Berger and Kesia Machler raced in the event that was the selection race for the European Youth Championships held in Kitzbühel, Austria next month. Whilst qualification wasn’t the aim, getting experience in a strong field was and both Lars and Lukas had strong races finishing =4th and 6th respectfully. Kesia didn’t have her strongest race however she was to turn that around the following day in Zofingen.
Emma Jacot is on the return from a broken collarbone 2 months ago and started only swimming again 3 weeks ago. She raced the girls 16-17 category taking the win and gaining some confidence as she builds into her season.
On Sunday the Swiss National Duathlon Championships (run/ride/run) were held in Zofingen and all 3 TLS athletes who competed made it onto the podium. Kesia Machler was motivated after the previous day and raced a strong and smart race to take the win and become Swiss 14-15 year Champion.
Theo West showed his improvements with a good race and finishing with the = fastest run to bring home second place in the 16-17 year category. Finally Sina Mier who was not well all week, showed courage to arrive and race as best she could which turned out to be good enough for 3rd place in the Junior 18-19 year category.
A strong weekend overall from the TLS squad and we look forward to continuing improvements and success during the season.
